The intensive training includes an introduction to:
. Movement Analysis
Grounding, presence, spatial awareness, energy and focus to support
physical and imaginative play. Creating a movement vocabulary based on
analysis of the body's capacities.
. Acrobatics
An analysis of movement in action, developing self-assurance, muscle
awareness, and engagement in preparation for theatrical play
. Technique
Studies of selected action sequences to develop principles for
choreography and performance.
. Improvisation
Participants embark on a theatrical voyage to discover the relationship
between the creative individual and theatrical presentation.
. Presentation
Thematic provocations challenging the participants to present their own
theatrical responses.
* Runs for 3 intensive days.
* Class Size: 20 participants.
Workshops in Germany 2004 & Japan 2003Jorge Lopes Ramos' work as a Theatre Practitioner consists of a wide
range of practical and academic skills, including a 1st Class BA Hons
Degree in European Theatre Arts. Early work as an actor includes major
roles in Hamlet, A Doll's House, as well as numerous original plays.
Performance training qualifications include Brazilian Capoeira, Butoh
dance, Commedia Dell'Arte, Acrobatics, Mime, Clowning, amongst others.
The work as a director and playwright comprises 10 of ZECORA URA
Theatre's 14 productions in the past 5 years - some of which toured UK,
Japan, Brazil and 7 other European countries. Experience as a lecturer
and workshop facilitator includes extensive work in Symposiums,
Conferences, Universities and Schools in the UK, as well as
International Theatre Festivals worldwide. At the moment, Jorge is
artist in residence at Rose Bruford College and guest lecturer at the
British School in Rio de Janeiro.
