Sammy was born in 1983 in London, where he now lives. He was a collaborator with Zecora Ura Theatre
between the summer of 2004 and the winter of 2005. He is now Artistic Director of London-based
theatre/performance group Sleepwalk Collective. You can find them at www.myspace.com/sleepwalkcollective.

Here is a little about them:

Sleepwalk Collective was formed in London at the beginning of 2006 by iara Solano Arana (Spain), Malla Sofia Pessi
(Finland) and Sammy Metcalfe (UK). This core group met whilst studying European Theatre Arts at Rose Bruford College.
With a shared background in physical and experimental performance, the group came together out of a desire to create
performance that challenges and affects the spectator, a fascination with frightening themselves, and a need to find
new ways of putting human beings on stage. They are interested in anti-performance, attempted performance,
wrong performance, the strange and uncomfortable balance of reality and pretending, and the innate human desire
to “feel something’. They like things that happen when other people are asleep.

Company members have worked and performed in cities across Europe, have trained with members of Song of the Goat
(Poland), F2 Performance Unit (Greece), La Claca (Spain), LUME Teatro (Brazil) and Shinonome Butoh (Japan),
and have collaborated extensively with Zecora Ura Theatre (UK/Brazil).
