After his early career as an actor in Brazil, Jorge has worked consistently in London as
a theatre director for many years. His work has toured to festivals and residencies in Brazil,
Japan, England, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Poland, Finland, Iceland, Scotland and it is
known for its innovation and boldness. His work in the U.K. has been supported by the
Arts Council of England, Oval House Theatre and Rose Bruford College, amongst others.For the past 5 years Jorge has also established a constant programme of workshops and
residency courses worldwide, teaching his radical approach to theatre The Body as Channel
- which merges strong principles from both Japanese Butoh Dance and Afro-Brazilian Capoeira -
in Symposiums, Conferences, Universities and Schools in the U.K., as well as International
Theatre Festivals and residencies worldwide.Jorge has worked as guest lecturer for MA programmes at Central School of Speech and Drama
and worked as artist in residence at Rose Bruford College, London. Jorge is co-founder and artistic director
of ZECORA URA Theatre Company & Network.
