www.bruford.ac.ukThis series of workshops is aimed at using Capoeira techniques in order to achieve
a stronger sense of balance, rhythm, reflex and presence on stage.
The participants will be provided with a basic historical and social context of
Capoeira Angola & Regional in order to understand and explore its various
qualities as martial-art, dance and game.
During the learning process, the focus is gradually shifted towards the use of
Capoeira as a 'theatrical set of physical tools', using basic Acrobatics, theatre
spatial and ensemble Games, and its Musical and Ritualistic force.
Jorge Lopes Ramos has led several workshops in the U.K., Brazil, Japan, Spain,
Poland and Iceland in the past years, including a two-week intensive version of this
workshop in Japan, 2003, and London in 2004 and 2005.If you have interested in hosting the workshop at your Conference, Symposium,
University, Theatre, School or Company, please contact us!.
